With the closure of school through April 3, 2020, the district will provide FREE lunches and breakfasts for students 18 and under. The district will make available sack lunches with breakfast starting Monday March 23, 2020. Meals can be picked up at the cafeteria starting at 11:00 am with service stopping at 12:00 pm. The meals will be a sack lunch item and a breakfast item for the next day. There will be no options available, only the sacked lunch/breakfast items. The following procedures will be followed:
1. Cars can pull into the parking lot entrance and drive up to the designated area by the cafeteria to get the meals.
2. The bus lane will be utilized as an exit only from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
3. The meals are only available for students, and the students will have to be present to receive a meal.
4. The Harvester’s back snack items will be available for pickup as well on Friday March 27th and April 3rd.
The district hopes to resume normal operations on April 6, 2020. IF, the school remains closed beyond the 6th, lunch procedures will remain in effect until further notice.

Due to the recent events with COVID-19, the district will not be in session from March 23-April 3. The official announcement has been posted on the website. Please plan on additional information on lunch and educational expectations being sent today.

Reminder no school March 16-20 for Spring Break, School Resumes on March 23, 2020

The STEAM trip planned for Monday the 23rd has been cancelled. UCM does not have another date planned at this time.

The district continues to monitor the COVID-19 news and information from the CDC and other organizations. The following recommendations will be followed at the school and are encouraged for families at home:
1. Staff and students should stay home when they are sick;
2. Teach students to cover their coughs and sneezes with tissues, or to cough or sneeze into their inner elbow;
3. Practice good hand washing with soap and water as often as possible, and if soap and water are not available, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers;
4. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in classrooms.
Any further updates or changes will be posted as necessary. Questions about the district response can be directed to the superintendent's office.

Mark your calendars....
PTO will be hosting a rummage and vendor sale in the school gym on March 28th from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. There will be many items for sell and they will be priced to move. We will have a spaghetti dinner from 11:00-2:00. From 1:00-2:00 come fill a bag for $1. We will also have Chilhowee T-shirts for sale. Hope to see you there and if you are a vendor contact the number on the flyer to set up a table.


Thank you to all our K-6 students that participated in the Academic Bee Friday night in Leeton. They represented our school well. Congratulations to Garrett Hornback for his 1st place finish in 5th grade math and to Kalie Young for her 3rd place finish in 6th grade spelling!



Reminder, All students participating in Spring Sports (Track and Field) are required to have a physical on file before participating in practices/contests. If using a 2018 physical, 2019 MSHSAA Pre-Participation Forms are still required prior to participation. All forms can be found on MSHSAA website or are available at school.

Senior Night tonight! Northeast Vernon County Knights @ Chilhowee Indians. Lady Indians start @ 5:30PM, Boys @ 7:00PM. Senior's recognition will happen between Varsity games and the Court Warming dance will start after contests and will end at 11:00PM.

Science Club is moved to Thursday, February 27th from 3:10 to 3:45 PM

The February 2020 regular meeting of the board of education is scheduled for Wednesday 2/19/2020 @ 7:00 pm in the conference room. Items on the agenda include: the proposed 20-21 school calendar, the preliminary 20-21 budget, change of March meeting, and Support staff.
